Published by suchamatter.com on

Career change is one such thing that is almost on the rise this decade, Why?

Thanks to the newer generation who have very less tolerance towards workplace toxicity and thanks to the Internet for providing massive possibilities for earning an income.

Your Questions could be :

Is Career change stressful?

Is it risky to change careers?

Why am I scared to leave my job?

Is it normal to regret changing jobs?

This Transition however has given us millennials edge to choose what to do with our lives, yes?

You see, despite having the opportunities there are many who still manage to tolerate the pressure and continuing the hike of the corporate ladder, In my case I tell you, It took a little while to realize that The corporate setup just wasn’t meant for me.

So, was the career change any easy?

Of course not!

I’m going to list out the very reasons for the difficulty you’ve been facing while you sit at your desk whining about the emails you’ve to send before EOD.

Support of your organisation

We have been conditioned right from our schooling to be under somebody’s guidance and support, We are almost never given a chance to figure things out on our own, As a leader the first thing you learn is to have all your systems in place, and no school has ever taught you to create systems and build businesses, It has always taught you to follow systems and follow the rules made by the systems.

So, That would be one of your first challenge, to unlearn the whole system and utilize past knowledge to create a system of your own to run your business.

Professional Identity

On the venture to find yourself the best business for you, your professional ego\identity takes aback seat, you become a fresher once agin finding your own path and doing what many won’t do.

It does take courage, but that could turn it to be the best thing happening to you in the months to come.

You see, during our corporate days, we usually tend to hold on to an identity and overtime it masks our sense of being, and trust me no business is done with that mindset.

That sense of being becomes our reality and we somewhere lose our involvement towards life and the real things, I have seen many people prioritizing their work so much more, they feel those are the real things that one should invest their attention into.

It’s just when we reach the midlife stage when we finally realize that we can be replaced like clothes in an organization, and that’s a bitter pill to swallow, So, prioritize family, friends and pets nothing, because that’s a place you are Irreplaceable from.

Power Of Repetition

When you reach a stage of taking the leap, you have now built systems that work, you have you path mapped out, If you have any difficulty creating a roadmap to escape your 9-5, Here’s mine, do check that out. Repetition Is the boring bit of your business but is going to reap you result like no other.

You repeated the work almost every single day at your previous business, remember?

You know the results you’ve given to your previous organization, Imagine what would happen if you put the same amount of efforts and repetition in your current business, who do you think would enjoy the results now?

So, even though taking that bold decision of starting your own venture seems like the toughest, the hardest part is mostly when you have to stick to this path even through the darkest tunnel.

But, will it be worth it?

Why Not!

5 years from now, if you ever have the courage to stick with it, you’d be 20 years ahead in your financial goals and your personal goals, so simply give that initial push and keep waggling yourself until you enter your desired ocean.

Conclusion

Now that we have seen the possible reason one can be afraid of changing career, it will be helpful to actually take action, As they always say, Knowing There’s a Problem is the first step to solving it. So, When in doubt, when in fear, when in dread, Take up a notebook and. open, an write down all the things that are bothering you, Even write down the actionable solutions, find ways to solve all of them one by one, and you will realize the Dread was only in your head.

Only a Decisions, Action, Repetition is the secret sauce to an escape from that 9-5.

Good luck.
